EXTREME SPINNING FOR BLUEFIN TUNA

When speaking of extreme spinning for bluefin tuna, we enter into a world in which adrenaline is our bread and butter. With this technique there are no veterans, given its recent development. The large tuna fish are increasingly forcing the shoals of sardines to rise to the surface, creating apocalyptic scenes with seagulls throwing themselves into the water whitened by the backs of the fish. Situations like this have captured the imaginations of fishermen, who first trolled with artificial bait, then with vertical rods throwing heavy jigs, then finally landed (also thanks to the experiences of those who were able to test themselves against fishing in the tropics) to extreme spinning with bluefin tuna.

You can practise this technique in various months of the year, in fact unlike some years ago when tuna were only seen in the autumn. For a couple of years now they have also been sighted in winter and spring, making the period much wider and calling more and more fans.

The fishing will be carried out departing port at 8am, then sailing and heading to the warmer areas. Once we spot a feeding frenzy (mangianza), the captain’s task will be to take you to the right distance from the fish. The angler will launch and if luck is on our side the adrenaline will be full on!

The match will end with the usual ritual photo and, after having tagged and oxygenated the fish, we will release it in compliance with the current regulation.

The re-entry to port is scheduled for 4pm.

We can carry out this technique during various months of the year, with best results in March, April, September, October and November.

Reimbursement of expenses include fuel, captain, drinks and snacks.

THE TIMES SHOWN ABOVE ARE PURELY APPROXIMATE AS WEATHER CONDITIONS MAY FORCE US TO RETURN EARLY OR DEPART LATE.

If needed I will provide the specific equipment for the fishing technique that we will be dealing with, giving everyone the opportunity to try their hand at the various techniques, even if they do not have everything required.
